Dear friends and supporters,

You are invited to a moment that demands to be witnessed.

On 9 October, Phil Buehler’s Wall of Tears – a public artwork memorialising the 18,457+ children killed in Gaza between October 7, 2023 and July 19, 2025 – will launch in Sydney, before remaining on public exhibition through 28 October.

This is not an easy artwork. It is not meant to be. It exists so that the sheer scale of loss is not reduced to a statistic, and so that each of those children is remembered as a life, not a number.

Launch Event
📅 Friday 9 October 2026, 7:00PM
📍 Pitt Street Uniting Church, 264 Pitt Street, Sydney

The launch will feature reflections from:

  • Chris Sidoti — International human rights lawyer
  • Dr Saiba Hussain — Volunteer medical worker in Gaza
  • Suzan Wahhab — President, Palestinian Christians in Australia

Exhibition Dates
The Wall of Tears will remain open to the public from 10–28 October:

Mon–Wed: 10am–2pm
Thu: 10am–7pm
Fri: 10am–2pm
Sat: 12pm–6pm
Sun: 12pm–4pm

We know many of you have stood with us through vigils, letters, advocacy and prayer. We ask you now to stand – and to bring others – before this wall. Bring your children, your congregations, your colleagues. Let this be seen.

This event is presented in partnership with Amnesty International, Uniting Church Australia and Palestinian Christians in Australia.

Please share this invitation widely  with your church, your networks, and anyone who believes that bearing witness still matters.

We hope to see you there.

Grace & Peace,

Palestinian Christians in Australia (PCiA)
