Dear Friends and supporters,

Protect Taybeh

Taybeh, the last remaining all-Christian village in the West Bank and home to the famous Taybeh Beer and Taybeh Oktoberfest, has faced a sharp escalation in attacks by Israeli settlers in recent months. Local residents have endured repeated physical assaults, arson, property damage, and intimidation aimed at driving them off their land. Local Christian families, farmers, and business owners describe an ongoing campaign aimed at displacing them from their ancestral lands.

🎥Eyewitness Report: Inside Taybeh’s Daily Reality

In this video – produced in solidarity by courageous Jewish Israeli and international allies – residents offer a rare look at the ongoing threats they endure simply to remain in their homes and preserve their heritage.

Breaking the Silence: 131 Dunams Stolen

Over 131 dunams (32 acres) of Taybeh’s land have already been seized for illegal settlement expansion. For years, the community bore the weight of occupation in dignified silence. But with escalating violence signaling an intent to claim all of Taybeh, silence is no longer an option.

The people of Taybeh are speaking out to expose the truth and demanding that Church leaders and the international community stand with them. In the face of systemic displacement, silence is complicity.

The “Major Minority”: A Pillar of Palestinian Society

Global vs. Local: While Palestinian Christians represent roughly 10% of the global Palestinian population, fewer than 50,000 remain in the West Bank and Gaza – accounting for under 1% of the local population today.

Custodians of Heritage: Despite their shrinking numbers, Palestinian Christians remain vital custodians of the Holy Land’s ancient holy sites, traditions, and community life.

Socio-Economic Anchor: The Church stands as the third-largest employer in Palestine – following only the Palestinian Authority and the commercial private sector – running major healthcare facilities, schools, and charitable institutions that serve all Palestinians.

🙏 WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY:

  1. Write to your representative: Demand protection and accountability for Palestinian Christian communities in the West Bank and Gaza.

  2. Engage Local Faith Communities: Invite church groups, interfaith councils, and community organizations to issue statements of solidarity and hold informational forums.

  3. Share this video: Help amplify the voices of Taybeh’s residents so their struggle is not forgotten.

  4. Donate to PCiA: Help us advocate, amplify Palestinian Christian voices, and support our community in the Holy Land and across the diaspora.

Grace & Peace,

Palestinian Christians in Australia (PCiA)
